Hi, guys! Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read a bit about Friendly Home Services of Punta Gorda, Florida. Below you'll find answers to some of the most common questions we field when chatting with new clients.
Who Are We, and What Do We Do?
Whether you're a Snowbird, or a Full-Time Floridian who sometimes likes to explore other parts of the world, your home should be looked after when you aren't there. Sometimes a friendly neighbor is available, but oftentimes asking a casual aquantaince--or, even a close friend--to look after your home just doesn't feel right.
That's where we come into the picture. We visit your home on a schedule that makes sense to you (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly) so that you can enjoy yourself while away.
What is HomeWatch?
It's pretty simple: we act as your eyes and ears while you're away, keeping a lookout for minor issues before they become serious problems.
What Do You Do? (It doesn't sound like rocket science...)
Each visit is unique because we don't know what we'll find, and so it's a bit of an adventure each time we enter your front door.
The most common issue we encounter is air conditioning failure (either mechanical breakdown or clogged drain lines.) The second most common issue is refrigerator/freezer cooling failure (either mechanical or power-related.) But that's really just the start of things. We've also run into problems, such as:
- Roof leaks
- Pool & spa leaks
- Water meter leaks
- Outdoor sprinker system failures & line ruptures
- Pest intrusion--rodent, insect, and other creepy-crawlies
- Vendors--pest control, pool maintenance, lawn care--failing to do the work assigned
- Well-water and septic system failures
- Water heater failure; and,
- Sprinkler system ruptures and line breaks.
None of this is rocket science, but what we do does require consistency, an attention to detail, and a willingness to be curious.
What Do You Do During a Typical Visit?
Our procedure is pretty straightforward: we observe your home from top to bottom looking for things that seem out of the ordinary.
By doing this on a regular basis we aim to find minor issues before they become major (and costly) headaches. Will we find everything that conceivably could go wrong while you're away during each visit? Probably not, but that's why consistency is the key to our success.
